A hospitality-industry veteran and native of Caracas, Venezuela, Miguel was drawn to the joie de vivre of New Orleans and brings his years of experience welcoming guests to the city into his role as General Manager of the Sazerac House.
As General Manager of the Sazerac House, Miguel leads the team in creating memorable guest experiences, whether through tasting signature New Orleans cocktails or through interacting with exhibits that detail the history of the diverse portfolio of spirits available on site. His passion for training and development will build the ambassador program at the Sazerac House, creating a team to help guide guests through the property, engaging them with compelling stories and delicious drinks at every turn.
Prior to joining the Sazerac House team, Miguel worked in hotel operations for more than 20 years, beginning when he joined the Westin Hotel Fort Lauderdale in 1996 as an ambitious and curious restaurant host. Shortly after, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in Miami, FL, and began his management career with Sonesta Hotels, training in the different properties they managed in South Florida and New Orleans. There Miguel acquired experience in guest relations, training and development, human resources, and cost controls, all the while developing a passion for the hospitality industry.
